Fodder characteristics

Palatability: Moderate.

Nutritional value: Typical for non-legume tree leaves.

Safety: No problems have been encountered, even when fed in large quantities.

Other characteristics/uses

Agroforestry: Not suitable for planting near crops because of its dense shade and shallow roots.

A very popular fruit. Often used as a shade tree for meetings.

Comments.

Often used as goat fodder because of its availability, but much less palatable than jackfruit or bark-cloth fig, and may be refused if given in very large quantities.
