Iganga project

History

Africa 2000 established a programme breeding 75% dairy goats based on mating pure dairy males with 50% dairy females purchased from Bukulula, through JOY Youth Training Centre. Some of the resulting 75% crosses were among the goats sent to Burundi to re-stock the artisan cheese programme there. Heifer International have also placed some pure dairy goats in the Iganga area.

However, most of the region is still lacking milk, and recently two small local NGOs contacted us through this website, and we have donated 8 bucks to start the breeding programme, with the possibility of establishing further buck stations in the future.
